In Loving Memory ~
Lyn was born in Cwmbran Wales UK to Zilla and Leonard Jones. Her family moved around a lot as her father worked for ICI. In 1942 she moved to Rainhill (near Liverpool) where she attended Wade Deacon School in Widnes. After she finished school, she went to Battersea Polytechnic College in London and got a degree in Home Economics.
Lyn's first teaching job was in Hamm, Germany at the Windsor Girls School. Lyn came to Canada around 1968. She went back to the UK to teach at Fairfield Comprehensive School in Windnes. Lyn then emigrated to Canada around 1970. She taught for a year in Grouard, Alberta, then several places in BC.
Lyn met Alex when they were both teaching in Burns Lake, BC. Lyn and Alex were married in Vancouver in Aug. 1972. They came to Golden to teach at Golden Secondary School. They purchased their property in Moberly in 1975 where they lived until Feb 2021. They then went into Durand Manor in Golden.
Lyn loved cats and dogs of which she had many over the years. Lyn also liked to travel back to the UK. Some of the trips Lyn and Alex took were the train from Yukon to Skagway on the Whyte Railway, Egypt and Russia. They also went across Canada in their motorhome.
Lyn is survived by her husband Alex. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Leon.
