Lorrie Lee Hayden (Chartier)

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandma, Lorrie Lee Hayden (Chartier). She is survived by her Husband Larry Hayden, sons Shelby Hayden and Dayne Hayden, His partner Shea Le Grand, and Granddaughter Rorie Lee Hayden. Her brother Mike Chartier, Niece Kayla Chartier, Mischa Cormier, and their Daughter Avah Cormier. Brandon Brooks, Shauna Couwenberg, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Lorrie was born in St. Jerome P.Q. Canada to Roger and Sharron Chartier. Being from an Air Force family, she moved around quite a bit at a young age, finally settling in Nanaimo B.C. where she met her husband to be. Lorrie and Larry were married on the 21st of July, 1984, when soon after their first child, Dayne was born. A few years later their second son, Shelby was born. Lorrie raised her sons while going to school to earn her Bachelor Of Arts degree. After completing her degree, she began working at VIU, where she worked tirelessly until the time of her Cancer diagnosis. She remained working at the University for as long as she was able. Fighting her Cancer took a lot out of her, she put up a valiant fight until she lost her battle on May 4th, 2024. She was surrounded by family and loved ones and passed peacefully. Her celebration of life will be held at Legion Br. 10, 129 Harewood Road Nanaimo on Saturday May 18th from 10am to 1:30pm.
