January 5, 1930 - February 7, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Wilma Bradley.

Lorraine was born on January 5, 1930 in Vancouver, BC and passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 7, 2024 in Trail, BC.

She was predeceased by husband Arthur John and daughter Shannon Marie, father Donât Bolduc and mother Wilma Andrews, sister Bonnie McInnes of Nelson and brothers Ramon Bolduc and Del Bolduc of Christina Lake.

Lorraine is survived by daughter Colleen McAlpine (Gordon) and son Norman Bradley, grandchildren Heather (Dary), Brett (Selena), Sara, and great grandchildren Vaila, Calais, Georgiana, Elliot and Owen.

Lorraine moved with her family from Vancouver to Christina Lake when she was 16 years old. She finished high school in Grand Forks and completed teacher training in Vancouver, before settling in Trail. Lorraine was an elementary teacher and taught for 32 years at Sunningdale School, retiring in 1992. She prided herself on teaching every kid who grew up in Sunningdale during that time, and especially loved teaching their kids too.

Lorraine was fiercely independent and took all of life's ups and downs with determination and a dash of humour. She was a voracious reader and a tremendous knitter. There was not a grandchild in the family left without hand-knit sweaters, toques, mittens and blankets. She was an accomplished cook who loved trying new recipes, and a baker who made the most impossibly thin and crispy sugar cookies. A devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandma and GG, she enjoyed her summers at Christina Lake, and made every occasion special with laughter and a bottle of Spumanti.

Thank you to the staff of CVL for their patience and care, and to Laura Fuller and Dr E McCoid for their care and support.

At Lorraine's request, there will be a private family graveside service in the Spring. Andreas Schmitz of Clark's Funeral Services have been entrusted with the arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the KBRH Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail BC V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca.

She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.clarksfuneral.ca
