In Loving Memory ~
Lorna Anderson passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the age of 100 years old.
She will be remembered by her loving family, sons Barry (Susan), Stan (Georgie) and daughter Marguerite Menzies; grandchildren Shelly, Christie, Jennifer, Cameron, Brian, Stacey, Rod; great-grandchildren Eve, Callie, Morgan, Rowan, George, Evan, Gwen, Bailey, Ada, as well as her extended family.
She was sadly pre-deceased by the love of her life, George in 2005, daughter-in-law Eileen and son-in-law Allan.
Lorna was born in Nelson on May 26, 1924, and raised in Castlegar. Following their marriage in 1944, Mom and Dad moved to Carmi and then settled in Penticton, where they raised their family.
Mom's strength and independence allowed her to live in her own home until just two weeks before her 100th birthday. She lived a life of love and devotion to her family, and enjoyed knitting, watching Wheel of Fortune, doing puzzles and made the best spaghetti and meatballs! In her retirement, she made sure that all the family had a constant supply of her delicious home-baked cookies. She was kind, caring and generous toward others and will be dearly missed.
We are extremely grateful to the nurses and staff at Dr Andrews Pavillion in Summerland for their compassionate care. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorna's memory to the O.S.N.S Child and Youth Development Center or the SOS Medical Foundation directed to Summerland Ext Care-DAP.
