November 24, 1924 - February 16, 2022
Passed away peacefully on February 16, 2022 at the age of 97 in Chilliwack with her son Ron, daughter Marilyn and grandson Ryan by her side.
Loretta (and twin sister Lorraine) was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent her younger years in Lethbridge Alberta, Kimberley and Vancouver, B.C.
She married the love of her life, "Rocky" Frederick Nash, in Vancouver on September 27, 1948. Rocky's military career brought them to live in many places throughout Canada as well as Soest, Germany with the final move to Chilliwack where they retired.
Family was very important to Loretta and she ensured that all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family knew of her love for them. Loretta was full of life and enjoyed being socially active.
She loved to volunteer her time. One of her most loved volunteer experiences was the time she spent with the Chilliwack Hospital Service League, in particular when she supervised the junior volunteers at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Loretta loved to golf and cherished the many friendships she made over the years while a member at the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed painting, writing stories and poetry, and loved attending Elder College where she was made an honorary member at the age of 90.
Loretta especially loved any time she could spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel with Hawaii being her favorite destination.
Loretta moved to Hampton House at the age of 92 where she found new friends to enjoy sharing time with. She loved taking part in the arts and crafts classes, Java Club, Freaky Friday's Happy Hours and various social events.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Hampton House, for embracing Mom as part of the Hampton House family and for going above and beyond in so many ways. Also, special thanks to Moms "forever" and much loved Doctor Hirst...you were always there for her.
Thanks to Dr. Enns and Dr. Epp and the wonderful nurses at Chilliwack Hospital and Chilliwack Hospice for their outstanding care and caring hearts during Moms stay.
"You will forever twinkle in every light"❤️
Loretta is survived by son Ron Nash, daughter Marilyn Marchuk, daughter in law Evelyn Nash; granddaughters Kimberly Nash; Morgan ( Emerson) Nash and grandson Ryan Marchuk; great grandsons Chase and Oliver Marchuk and Cruze Nash; great granddaughter Hallie Bayoneta and much loved nephews and niece.
