In loving memory ~
Lily Ann Ford (nee Romaniuk) born September 23rd, 1941, passed away on October 27th, 2022 at the young age of 81, in the Penticton Regional Hospital after a brief illness from undiagnosed heart disease.
Lily, a resident of Summerland, previously resided in Tulameen and Surrey BC with her late husband, Glen Eugene Ford. She was born in Vilna AB, the eldest of 7 children born to Roman and Anne (nee Chmelyk) Romaniuk and grew up in New Westminster.
Lily worked as a Payroll Clerk for Sears for many years then as a Canada Post Clerk until retirement.
She loved the outdoors and had many adventures with her best friend Trudy Kotzian, hiking, cross-country skiing, and kayaking. She loved to travel and had been to China, Australia, and Europe. She was greatly thought of as a kind and caring individual, amongst her neighbours at the Linden Estates in Summerland. Lily was a devoted, supportive, and loving, and very much loved, mother to her only child, surviving daughter Jamie Ford.
Miss Lily, as she liked to be referred to, is also survived by her sister Jane, brothers Ernie, Dennis, Ron, and Bob, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and a great grand niece, and many friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Glen, her parents, Roman and Anne, her brother, Jim, and her grandson, Nicholas.
Lily's passing has left a whole in the lives of many people. She will be sorrowfully missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
There will be no services this year but a Celebration of Life is being planned for the late Spring/early Summer of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, please make a dedication donation to BC Children's Hospital in the name of Lily Ford.
