After a long battle with illness, Lawrence (Larry) Robert Smith, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15th at 9:45 PM. He was surrounded by loved ones at time of death.
Larry was happiest when he was camping, fishing, hosting parties and fishing derbies for family and friends, barbequing, and having fun. He was a committed hockey fan, believing in the Canucks to become Stanley Cup winners. Selling cars was a joy to Larry, and he thrived off of making connections with people in his community. Always ready with a joke, Larry ultimately had a gentle and kind heart.
He is survived by wife Lisa, daughter Leanne (Nils) and grandchild Henry, step-daughter Angela (Roger) and grandchildren Nathan and Nicole, and step-son Roland (Susan) and grandchildren Brittany and Brooke, and half-brother Ron (Shirley)..
Special appreciation and thanks to Dr. Omer, palliative care nurses Morgan and Olivia, Nurses Shay, Nicola, Elizabeth, and Brianna, for their patience, kindness, and care towards Larry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 100 Mile Hospice (www.100MileDistrictHospice.org).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 5th, between 11 AM and 3 PM.
