Laura Patricia Cronsberry

April 1, 1935 – September 20, 2023
In loving memory ~
Laura was born on April 1, 1935, to Lloyd and Elizabeth (Betty) Jackson in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Brother Andrew joined the family approximately six years later.
Laura completed her schooling in Winnipeg and for the next several years held a variety of working assignments in Winnipeg and Toronto and finally with The Presbyterian Church in Canada involving archiving materials and supporting overseas mission work.
While Laura and Ivan first met in 1958, they were friends for many years prior to their marriage on July 5, 1974, in Aurora, Ontario They lived in that area until Ivan’s retirement in 1986 from the City of York.
Once retired, the couple moved to Victoria BC where they made many friends and were involved in Knox Presbyterian Church as well as many other community projects. It was in 2000 that they made the move to the Comox Valley where once again they became involved in Church and community work. Retirement also gave them the opportunity to travel – often by cruise ship – and they visited over 50 countries.
In Feb. 2015 Ivan passed away and only 3 years later, in 2018, Laura required the support of a Care Home. This transition was made easier by the care and relationships formed with staff over the next five years.
Laura is predeceased by her beloved husband Ivan in 2015; and her parents and brother. She is remembered by cousins Theresa Phillip of Winnipeg, Man; Penny Stewart of Prince George, BC; Bonnie Haapala, Nanaimo, BC and their families as well as many friends. A memorial service will be held on October 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Comox Valley Presbyterian Church, 725 Aspen Road, Comox. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Comox Valley Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.Obituary-
