Larry John Corless passed peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Palliative Care 18 December 2023.
Larry was born 21 April 1930 in Stettler, Alberta. As a young man he lived in Edmonton and worked at Marshall Wells where he met his future wife, Shirley (died 2001). After marrying in 1957, he joined the Hughes Tool Company in Calgary, which in 1962 became Western Rock Bit. He remained with the company until retirement, during this time he also served on The Canadian Manufacturers' Association Board of Directors and went on several manufacturing trade missions.
They relocated to Parksville in 1995 with daughter Patti (died 2016), where he lived until his passing.
Larry was fiercely independent, famously stubborn, and wryly humorous. Always active, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed snowbird golf in Arizona with partner Faye. In later years he stayed fit with his daily walks where he looked forward to catching up with his neighbours.
Larry is survived by daughter, Liz, son, Bob, and three grandchildren.
