November 5, 1942 - April 17, 2025

In loving memory ~

Larry Allen Pederson passed away on April 17 at the age of 82, surrounded by family and friends. Larry was born on November 5, 1942, to Owen and Lillian Pederson in Vancouver, BC. Larry is survived by his two children, Deanna (Tim) and David (Fawn), and three grandchildren, Natasha, Maxwell, and Brooke. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Peter.

Larry developed a love for cars from a young age, which led him into a lifelong career as an auto mechanic. Larry moved to Cloverdale when he married his wife, Patricia (Pentecost), and worked for Carter GM before purchasing the Shell Service Station, Green Belt Service, in 1976. For over 30 years, the station served the local farms and the Cloverdale community. Car repairs, commercial vehicle inspections, and towing kept Larry and his brother, Pete, busy.

He loved buying, selling, and working on cars, but Larry also enjoyed spending time in the Cariboo. At first, it was family time and fishing at Canim Lake, and later, he was the unofficial mayor of Hendrix Lake. Larry and his partner Sylvia (McKinnon) spent many summers relaxing by the lake.

A true optimist with an easy-going manner, Larry is deeply missed.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Larry's life on Sunday, July 6, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Cranley Place Community Hall in South Surrey. All who knew him are welcome to attend and share memories.
