In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness and sorrow yet also so much love that we say our farewell to Laila Rigmor Crispens of Courtenay, (Union Bay) B.C. and announce her peaceful passing on December 5th 2022. at Comox Valley North Island Hospital after being admitted to the ER for complications after enduring a long up and down 7 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. (Changing our original active plan of her remaining at home until the end.) She battled for 5 days in hospital and was such a blessing watching how all the staff involved handled and looked after her with such great care, dignity and compassion up to her passing with her loving husband and best friend Harry there alongside her all the way.
Laila was a real fighter right up until the very end!!! She leaves a large and very giant void in the heart of her husband Harry and other close family members and she will truly be fondly missed and know that she is calm and at peace now!!!
Laila was born in Kalmar, Sweden to Lisa and Erik Blomqvist.
Laila is survived by her loving husband Harry; her son Mats; her daughter Anette; her stepchildren-sons Carter and Tyler; and daughter Ricki; granddaughter Keannah; her grandson Clayton; and her great granddaughter Baylor.
Laila was preceded in death by her father Erik and her mother Lisa, brothers Olle, Willy and sister Gudren.
Laila was my soul purpose and focus in life for everything. Her inner strength and stamina has always amazed me and she showed me that over and over again all these years that she has been nothing but self-sacrificing, humble, modest, unselfish, and always downplaying any emphasis on herself or any symptoms or her wellbeing and making light of it all, being more concerned about me and others more than herself!! She was one hell of a fighter right to the very end, and had so much more strength and willpower inside of her that I never quite realized and did not always see. She taught me so much over the years and we learned so so much from and about each other, truly amazing!! She was (as I always tried to tell her) you are the girl of my dreams"!! My sweetie!! I will truly miss my little Swedish 5' 2" blue eyed girl of my dreams!! My destiny!!
* Min Laila, jag älskar dig min älskling!
