In Loving Memory ~
Suddenly, in Nanaimo, on January 9th, 2022.
Kent leaves behind his grieving son Mark in Nanaimo, his older sister Bernice in Victoria, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, and many friends in the hiking community.
Kent graduated from University of Victoria with a BSc in Marine Biology, and subsequently completed a forestry degree at the University of British Columbia. He worked as a forester for the province of BC for most of his career.
Kent loved nature, and spending time outside. He was knowledgeable about trees, plants and birds and was always happy to share his knowledge. He was an avid reader and a keen Scrabble player.
After his retirement he spent many happy days outdoors, leading groups of hikers. He will be missed by all who knew and appreciated his intelligence and unassuming manner. Remember Kent the next time you walk in nature.
