In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ken, who passed away peacefully in hospital with close family at his side.
Ken leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Anne, his daughter Lisa (Mike), son Sean, and grandchildren Kolton, Connor, Justice and Sophia.
Ken had a long and successful career with the Saanich Fire Department from July 1968 to January 2001. He spent many years as president of their union, and retired as an Assistant Chief.
In 1978 Ken and Carol moved their young family to a small farm on the Sooke River where they spent many wonderful years. When their children were younger Ken was very active coaching both soccer and softball and managing farm life.
Ken was a craftsman who was always building or fixing something. He also enjoyed traveling, and over the years he and Carol were fortunate to spend many holidays in Europe... England was the favourite...so many amazing memories.
In his retirement, Ken remained very busy building and farming. There was nothing he loved more each year than "hay season" on his beloved Massey Ferguson. He and close friend Roger, took care of the hay fields for the local farms in Sooke.
Ken was an incredibly strong, honest and hard working man, who was always helping people whenever he could. He will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
"I love you to the moon and back"
