February 28, 1941 - November 25, 2022
The MacNeill family is deeply saddened by the passing of their dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Kathleen Deanna Krislock (Deanna).
Deanna passed away in Vernon, B.C. on November 25, 2022, after a slow decline having seen most of her immediate family on that day and with her daughter Shannon MacNeill at her side.
Deanna was predeceased by her parents James and Dorothy Pollock, brothers Ron and Robert Pollock and sister Doreen Ozem, as well as her husband Brian Krislock.
She leaves behind her grieving children; Shannon, Maureen and Douglas MacNeill, and grandchildren; Reid and Cole Folk, Sarah, Larissa and Chelsea MacNeill, along with great-granddaughter Miriam MacNeill.
Deanna was born in Swift Current, SK but spent most of her adult life in Regina.
She worked at Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board as a secretary prior to having children, was a stay-at-home mom for many years and was later employed as a secretary by the federal government. She moved to Vernon, B.C. in 2009 to be closer to family.
Deanna loved having her family around and attending family events. She would delight in seeing and hearing what her children and grandchildren were doing and always had a funny comment to brighten up the activities and amuse her unsuspecting family.
Deanna had a passion for history and mystery shows (Murdock Mysteries was her favorite). She enjoyed the National Geographic and staying on top of current events.
Deanna was a deep soul whom many thought of as shy, but to those closest to her, she had a sharp wit and a lovely energy. In her case, still waters truly ran deep.
Deanna was always kind and non-judgmental and made everyone feel welcome. She will be dearly missed.
The MacNeill family wants to send special thanks to Noric House in Vernon, B.C., where Deanna spent her last years. She received exceptional care there, particularly during the COVID pandemic.
There will be no service for Deanna, instead a celebration of life will occur in Regina, Saskatchewan in summer of 2023.
