With hearts full of sorrow, we remember and honour the life of Kaia Joy Dobb.
Kaia is survived by her loving parents Andrea & Kevin, sister Kennedi, Omi & Opa, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and her beloved dog Rosie.
Kaia's smile lit up a room, she loved her people with all her heart, her authentic caring nature left an indelible imprint on her family and friends, all of whom are heartbroken and attempting to imagine a world without her.
Growing up in Chilliwack Kaia was a bubbly sweet girl with a sparkle in her eye, she was a cherished daughter, a nurturing and protective sister and good friend to many. She enjoyed playing hockey, soccer, scuba diving, and spending time at Cultus lake. Her love of makeup, hair and nails was where her creativity was on display, she'd effortlessly create stunning looks. Having her birthday at the end of October Kaia loved the Halloween festivities and visiting the scariest haunted house she could find.
Kaia had an adventurous spirit and pursued travel any chance she had, she visited the Cayman Islands, Hawaii, Ireland, Germany, Arizona and sailed in the British Virgin Islands. She loved being in nature, spending time in parks, on a beach or boat on the lookout for whales and scuba diving. The ocean was her favourite place, befitting as her name means the sea.
Her passion for helping others and her empathic nature led her towards a career in social work, Kaia was near completion of her degree at TRU, through her commitment to her studies she achieved Dean's list recognition. Kaia lived up to her middle name bringing Joy wherever she went, her infectious smile and laugh filled our hearts, her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
Kaia your life was a blessing, our memories of you we treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. It is said that the light that burns brightest only burns half as long. Kaia provided so much light to our lives that we will remain in the glow forever. The Northern Lights display was breathtaking the night of Kaia's passing, we're convinced she put that light show on for us all.
A celebration of Kaia's life will be held at the Chilliwack Golf Club on August 18th at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kaia's memory.
