We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister and Auntie, Judy Canty of Abbotsford, B.C.
Judy was born in Souris, Manitoba. Judy lived in Regina, Calgary, High River, Edmonton, Penticton, Ottawa, and Winnipeg until she settled in Vernon, B.C., in 1981 with her daughter Meghan and her mom Evelyn. Judy lived there for 30 years, where she worked at the Vernon Women's Transition House. She relocated to Abbotsford in 2011 to be with her family.
Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Meghan and Brent Domonkos, and beloved grandsons Carter and Malcolm of Abbotsford. Sister Kathy Hourie of Winnipeg; sister-in-laws Lorraine Canty of Calgary, and Karen Canty of Brandon; nieces and nephews: David, Darcy, Michelle, Holly, Carrie, Michael, Ryan, Kristin, and Kelly; and their families
Judy was predeceased by her parents, William (Bill) and Evelyn Canty, and brothers, William (Bill) and Herbert (Herb) Canty.
Judy was especially proud of her two grandsons, and she cherished her time with them. Her love of books and family traditions will be lovingly remembered.
In honouring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at a later date in Abbotsford, B.C.
