In loving memory ~
The family sadly announces the passing of Eli Christiansen, Jr. with family by his side.
He is mourned and missed greatly by his children, Carolyn (Dave Connar), Alan (Sherelyn); partner Sharon Daumont; grandchildren - Kelsey Lockhart, Erin Lockhart (Justin Soucie); Myles Anderson; Brittany Prest (Kelson); Jared Christiansen (Madi Raposo). Great grandchildren - Aubrieh, Khloey, Caidey, Claira and Andrew. Sharon's children Harold Daumont (Danielle); Jennifer Daumont (Glen Kroeker); Suzette Lamke (Ed) and their families. His sisters - Laura Brown, Shirley Bolton and Irene Mason; sisters in law Louise Morton, Belva Snider and his best friend Ron Snider and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Beulah, grandson Samuel, great-granddaughter Brooke; brothers John and Erick and sisters Martha and Marina.
Eli was born in Terrace to Eli and Jemima Christiansen (nee Gosnell) and belonged to the Kitsumkalum band.
He was the gentlest of men - soft-spoken, kind, intelligent and loving. Eli spent his life in the beautiful north, working in the logging industry from horse logging to heli-logging. He started working at 14, delivering goods, walking from Terrace to Kitimat, for CN, while the line was being built. He was gifted in metalwork/welding, if he couldn't find it - he built it.
The forest was his 'church'. He worked as a faller and machine operator, ran his falling company for many years, but his great passion was gold mining and he had numerous placer claims throughout his life, with good friends as partners.
We will miss him tremendously, his quiet presence, his great stories, his subtle humour, his advice and love. He loved us all deeply. There will be no funeral as this was his wish. The family will have a memorial tea in the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Canadian Diabetes Association.
Hagwil Ya'an (Walk Softly) Dad.
