February 15, 1937 - August 18, 2022
In loving memory ~
Joy Fuchs (nee Green) was born February 15, 1937 in Swan River, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Albert and Gertrude Green (nee Kiddle) and was the adored little sister of Jim, Donald and Denis. Joy wasn't given a middle name as her parents felt such "Joy" at having a little girl. After 3 boys there was nothing more to add.
When Joy was still quite young the family moved to Port Alberni where she lived the rest of her childhood. It was at this point where Joy met a dashing young laundry truck driver named Karl. They were married on November 15, 1958 and settled in Campbell River. Their daughter Deborah was born the following year, then Robert in 1961 and Lynn 8 years later in 1969.
Joy's greatest loves were spending time with her family and traveling the world. Joy and Karl spent many winters snowbirding in Arizona and had some amazing adventures across the globe traveling through Europe, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Joy loved to knit and crochet and created many loved treasures. Another favorite activity was square dancing.
Joy passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 18th. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Karl, her 3 children, Deborah Ewart (David), Robert Fuchs (Sheryl) and Lynn Blaseckie (Todd), her 4 grandchildren, Erin, Sarah, Sonja and Siena and 3 great grandchildren, Ambrose, Bowen and Charlie. She is also survived by her 2 older twin brothers, Donald and Denis Green. She was a kind, gentle woman who was loved by so many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
