It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of Jeanette Gilbertson at the age of 84. Jeanette is predeceased by her husband Keith; parents: Fred Berube, Lilian and George Smith; twin sister Lorrette and sister Emilie Lambert. She is survived by her loving children: Shawn Gilbertson and Leah Guyatt (Bill); her only grandchild Janelle Guyatt, and her sister Dianne Cousens (Chip). Jeanette will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as all her adored close family and treasured friends in Alberta and on Vancouver Island.
Jeanette was a hard working and dedicated healthcare nurse in Calgary in her younger years. While later working for Cowichan Home support until retirement. Mom's passions in life included gardening, beaded jewelry making, camping, country music, Caroline's and Coffee and a good shot of Tequila on a Friday night while being surrounded by the friends she called family. Her door was always open to offer a meal and ready for a goodtime, living life to its fullest.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all staff at Cowichan home support (Tara, Manjit); Cowichan Home Nursing staff (DD, Kendra); Hospice House Staff; all of mom's nurses and volunteers; Dr. Davies, Dr. Adzich. Thank you for giving back to Jeanette the love and care she always brought forward to others.
Jeanette always lead by example, giving precise direction and skill to those with a willingness to learn. We will miss you dearly and hold you in our hearts always.
