Janet (Pat) Romaine Witwer, a resident of South Hazelton, B.C., passed away on November 25th, 2022, at the age of 89 years at the Wrinch Memorial Hospital.
Pat was born in Pennsylvania and was the youngest of two siblings.
She married her high-school sweetheart, Lester (Witty) in 1954 and later welcomed three sons. In 1967, the family moved to Canada, where they settled and built a life for themselves on the family farm of 53 years, in Kispiox Valley, B.C.
Pat enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening, feeding the wild birds and having a houseful of family and friends. Her home was open to anyone and everyone, always making sure to have fresh coffee and sweets for visitors, including her famous Santa cookies during Christmas.
She also had a memorable "yodel" call that you could hear a mile away to let her kids and grandkids know when it was time to reel in the fishing line and come home.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lester; sons: Tim (Charlotte), and Tyler (Fay); 4 grandchildren: Nikki (Danny) Coles, Charlee, Kristina (Jason), and Carmen (Christoph) Muigg; and 5 great-grandchildren: Aaliyah, Faye, John, Sascha and Ember.
She is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Myrtle Risser; son Todd; great-grandchild, Roland; and brother John Risser.
As per Pat's wishes, no memorial service will be observed. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
