In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of James "Jimmy" Robert Gagnon. Jim passed away peacefully in his home on November 8th.
Jim is preceded by his father Jack, Art and June Pimlott as well as his dear grandmother.
Jim is survived by his mother and step-father (Brenda and Bernard Paquette), his brothers Michael and Bobby, sister Heidi, Aunt Joan, wife Jayne, step-daughters Amie, Erin and Ellen, his son in-laws Brett and Joel, his grandchildren Meeka, Alaya, Gage and baby Springer (coming January 2023), daughter Terri-lyn and son Kyle; as well as many other family members and close friends.
Jim was born in Ontario in 1965 and moved to Vancouver Island when he was a child. Growing up it wasn't always easy, but he created lasting friendships and developed a passion for concrete.
Jim worked as one of the best concrete finishers in Campbell River for the past 35 years. Uplands and Island Ready Mix always treated him like family and supported him when he started a company. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed being on the job site right up until last week.
The only thing Jim loved more than concrete was the love of his life Jayne and their family. He loved being a grandpa and found endless joy spending time with his grandkids. Jim also enjoyed fishing, guinea pigs, working on his truck, going to the "secret" lake with Jayne, good food and a cold beer.
He will be fondly remembered for his big heart and even bigger laugh.
The family has decided to honour Jim's wishes and mourn in a small private ceremony. We appreciate the support we have received from the community and would like to thank Island Funeral Services for their exceptional care and the respect they have showed us and our loved one.
In lieu of flowers or should you wish to make a donation in Jim's name, please donate to the SPCA.
