In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father and brother Jim. Ever the night owl Jim passed away just after midnight on March 17th.
Jim will be lovingly missed by his devoted wife of 60 years Marilynn, daughter Andrea (Travis), son Gordon (Leana) and grandchildren Aidan, Kaitlyn, Meaghan, Riley, Noah and Nik.
Also remaining to mourn are brothers Michael (Karen) and Merrill and sisters Sandy (Al) and Pam.
Predeceased by his parents James and Merle Meyer.
Outgoing and personable, Jim will likely be remembered by numerous people he met living and working in Alberta and California before retiring to B.C. With his open friendly manner and broad range of interests, Jim was well known for stimulating fun and lively conversations.
His personal favourite hobbies were trains (all kinds and sizes but especially model railroads), vintage cars and photography.
Jim's family would like to thank all the dedicated people who made it possible for him to remain in a comfortable loving environment at home with his dear wife. These include all the excellent home care support staff who helped with Jim's everyday needs as well as the exemplary medical personnel at North Island Hospital, Comox Valley, who cared for Jim in his final days.
Special thanks to Dr. Robertson for years of professional advice since Jim's retirement to the Comox Valley.
There will be no public service but we encourage friends to put aside a moment or two to think about Jim and his smile.
Memorial donations may be directed to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
