We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Irene Burstyk on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Salmon Arm, BC. Irene was born in Ponoka, Ab on May 8, 1934.
As a young child she moved to North Vancouver and that is where she met her husband Andy. They married in 1957 and together they had three children, Tim, Trina and Trevor. They settled in Salmon Arm in 1960, on Grandview Bench and in town on “The Burstyk Property”
After being widowed at the age of 52, Irene showed her strong and independent side (and a little bit feisty). She enjoyed dancing, bowling and laughing at good jokes (even the non-family friendly versions). She loved watching sports and tending to her plants and flowers.
Irene is survived by her two children, Trevor (Darlene) and Trina Worner (Dan), her two grandchildren, Corey and Taylor, her stepson Terry Burstyk (and family), along with nieces, nephews and all those close to her.
Irene is predeceased by her husband Andy and son Tim.
A private family gathering was held.
