Irene Bieber

In Loving Memory ~
In the early morning hours of August 10th, 2023, after a brief stay at North Okanagan Hospice, Mom passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Irene was born on October 26th, 1928 in Scottsburgh, Saskatchewan to Henry and Bertha (Heid) Schuetz. She was the eldest of thirteen children and at an early age she moved with her family to a farm in Lumby, B.C.
In 1949 she married Adolph Wilhelm (Bill) Bieber and they moved to Brooks, Alberta. They remained there for a short time owning and operating a Confectionery store. However, it wasn't long before they felt the call to return to Lumby and then to Vernon where Mom resided for the remainder of her life.
Mom was an extremely hard worker both as a young girl working with her Dad logging trees in Lumby and then after her marriage as a great homemaker and mother. She took a lot of pride in the raising of her four children; James William, Norman Lee, Wendy Mae and Keith Douglas and was dedicated to creating the best home possible for them.
Sadly her first born son Richard William passed away shortly after birth. It was one of Mom's greatest desires to one day be reunited with him.
Irene leaves behind her loving children, James (Cathy), Norman (Sharon), Wendy (Elwin) and Keith (Pam); fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Clara, Betty, Darlene, Verna and Linda, together with their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; one son, Richard; her parents; three sisters, Vivian, Laura and Marjorie; and four brothers, Walter Fredrick, Wilbur, Walter Glen and Robert.
For the past nine years of her life Irene resided at Heritage Square where she made many great friends and came to love and receive them as family. Mom will be missed by so many.
Cremation preceded a private Graveside Service which will take place at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery when Irene is laid to rest in the grave of her son and husband. They will once again all be together both here on Earth as well as in Heaven.
A Memorial Service celebrating Irene's life will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 1:30 pm.
