September 6, 1933 - December 12, 2022
In loving memory ~
Hubert was born in Muenster, Germany on September 6th, 1933. He came to Canada on the 1st of August 1955.
After working for several weeks at a Gold Mine in Pickle Crow Ont., he moved to Kitimat.
Unable to obtain work at Alcan at this time, he moved to Terrace where worked for Prince Rupert Construction.
In December of 1955, he joined Alcan, working in potlines, then transferring to the mechanical department where he worked with casting until his retirement. He was a master craftsman, a goldsmith and a millwright with skills for everything in between.
Hubert was highly respected as an engineer for his knowledge, professionalism and integrity.
Being German he believed in quality and excellent workmanship and had little time for anyone who didn't share his ideals of perfection. He was happy to debate his way of thinking on a variety of issues during his many coffee or lunch meetings with friends.
As respected as Hubert was in his professional career, he was even more exceptional as a person. His level of care and dedication to those he loved, especially Erika Rosner and Elske Germuth was truly second to none.
During his time Hubert enjoyed many activities.
He spent many happy days on his boat with family and friends exploring the Douglas Channel, He was an excellent photographer and he designed and built all sorts of projects; from an in-house elevator made from a forklift mast to a dune buggy! Later he enjoyed cooking and baking for others.
He is survived by those he loved and was loved by: Elske Germuth, Claus, Lex and Chai Rosner, Carrol and Linda Rosner.
