In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Harold Bruce Freeman. Bruce was born on May 8th, 1931, to Harold and Dora Freeman in New Westminster, B.C. Bruce was the eldest of three, Maxine, then Paul. They grew up in Milner, B.C.
In Bruce's younger years, he was trained for combat with the threat of WWII. Fortunately, the war ended, which was on his fourteenth birthday (VE Day). During this period his Dad got a job in Mission, B.C. and he moved the family there.
After graduation from High School Bruce attended Northwest Baptist Bible College where he met Rose Branton, whom he married in 1953. After the birth of Robin, they moved to Terrace in 1957.
Three more children followed in the years to come, Laurie, Kevin and Leyton. Bruce and Rose spent the rest of their lives living in Terrace as entrepreneurs raising chickens for Kalum Vale Farms and then later started Uplands Nursery.
Bruce and Rose were charter members of Uplands Baptist Church where eventually Bruce became a bi-vocational pastor in 1985. Bruce loved His Lord Almighty and served Jesus and the congregation with utmost devotion. Bruce remained pastor of Uplands Baptist Church until his death on June 2nd, 2024, at the age of 93.
Bruce's parents Harold and Dora, sister Maxine, brother Paul, niece Cathie, and his dear loving wife Rose of 67 years predeceased him and now they are rejoicing in glory together with their Lord and Saviour.
Bruce and Rose left behind four children: Robin (Louise), Laurie (Ray), Kevin (Liz), Leyton (MaryAnn), nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church in Terrace at 4640 Park Avenue at 1:00 pm on August 10th, 2024—reception to follow.
