In loving memory ~

It is with the greatest sadness that we share the passing of Gordie Ohman who left this world on December 14th, 2023.

Gordie was a loving husband to Teresa Ohman for 46 years and an amazing father to their three children- Brenda, Julie, and Trevor Ohman. His favourite role later in life was being the silly Papa to his grandson, Linden Ohman.

Gordie also known to many as the "The Big O" and "Gord O" was a proud and dedicated second-generation logger on Vancouver Island. He took pride in his career and spread his wings to help his fellow brothers in the field through his commitment to the IWA Union and passion for the safety of all workers on the mountain as a dedicated Level 3 First Aid attendant. Gord was tough as nails and never gave up despite the odds and passed that courage on to his children and all those he loved. He was a fighter and always kept laughing through any odds.

Gord was a lifetime member of the Duncan Elks Club and was very proud to be a member and brother of the Elks Club family and dedicated to the Elks Club's values and mission to help children and families in need.

He is predeceased by his parents, Carl and Mildred Ohman, brother John Ohman and sister Sharon McMillan. He is survived by his little sister, Danna (David) Daniels and many nieces and nephews whom he loved unconditionally.

He will be forever missed by all his family and many friends and colleagues.

Celebration of life to be held February 29th, 2024 at the Duncan Elks Club from 12-3 pm. All are welcome to join us to celebrate a man who lived his life full of integrity and laughter. Gord kept telling jokes right until the end and all are invited to share in the laughter Gordie brought to this world.
