Gordon Loudon

December 19, 1936 – February 17, 2022
In Loving Memory ~
Our beloved Gordon, a hard-working man with a gentle smile and generous heart, passed on to his Lord on February 17, 2022.
He was born in Nanaimo on December 19, 1936 and grew up helping on the Loudon’s Dairy farm. He drove an oil truck for Mid-Island Co-op for many years and worked in the grocery store until it closed.
He was a janitor/caretaker at First Baptist Church until his retirement. He was always willing to help others. He volunteered for the 7-10 Club, Salvation Army Kettles, ushering at FBC and giving over 100 donations of his blood to Canadian Blood Services. He did yard work for numerous people, he swept the outside area around NRGH and he supported many charitable organizations.
Gordon enjoyed watching Clippers Hockey games, camping with extended family, golfing, carpet bowling and assembling puzzles.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife (of 49 years) Bernice; sons Bruce (Fran) Hawker, Dalan (Myra) Hawker, daughter Cara (Gord) Beirnes, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, other extended family and good friends.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 12th at 3 pm.
