It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Jones, age 83, in his hometown of Chilliwack, BC. Gordon was born in Sardis as the son and only child of James and Gertrude Jones. Growing up, Gordon spent many days at "the barns" on Corbould St in Chilliwack caring for horses. He was a proud member and past President of the Chilliwack Riding Club.
It was at the Riding Club where he met and then married Georgia Kirkpatrick in 1964. Together they raised two children, Christine and Kimberly. His great joy was being the loving Grandpa to his two grandchildren, Brianna Polden and Jarrett (Alyssa) Polden. Gordon took much pride in his work with the Joiner family and then as owner/operator of Gordon Jones Excavating for 35 years. In his later years he enjoyed tinkering on mowers in his backyard shop and together with Georgia, ran a landscaping business.
There will be no service as per Gordon's wishes.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Insanally and to the many doctors and nurses at Chilliwack General Hospital who tended to Gordon in his last days. An additional thanks to Gordon's cousins for their kindness and attention to Gordon throughout his life and his last years.
