June 9, 1943 - February 14, 2025

A bright light has left us and is now shining like the brightest star in the galaxy.

Gordon will be incredibly missed; his legacy is indeliable.

Gordon left a huge piece of his heart with all of us following a catastrophic spontaneous hemorrhagic stroke. He is survived by his loving wife Lynda (married 58 years and together 62 years) and extended family members Sylvia & Bryan Reeve, nephew Matthew Reeve, niece Vanessa Goluboff and her family and brother-in-law Ross Cambel. He is also survived by half siblings Sally, Bud, Allan and Bill. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Shirley Eggleson and Frederick Timms.

Gordon was raised in Vancouver and moved to Prince Rupert B.C. when he was 18. He worked at various jobs as a young man in Prince Rupert while working five years on his sheet metal and fabricating apprenticeship. He became a partner at Marinex Sheet Metal in Cow Bay, Prince Rupert in 1972, staying until his retirement in 1987. There was nothing he couldn't make out of aluminum or wood!

Gord loved the water and was always a sailor, with Lynda by his side. He and Lynda had a sailboat for 13 years, aptly named 'SUMMER WINE'. One very exciting day, Gord hooked a fish on old 30-pound test fishing line. Turned out this'fish'was an 89-pound spring salmon: they had a very exciting time getting that salmon into the boat!! At the time, it held the record for the 'largest salt water spring salmon'. It was mounted and still resides in their home.

Shortly after being married (1967), Gordon and Lynda worked together to build their home overlooking the beautiful Prince Rupert Harbour. Being near or on the water was where they both loved to be. They lived there until their '1st retirement in 1987 when they went on an odyssey trip in their RV for one year, planning their future and dreams together.

A passion for skiing brought them to Penticton where Gord built their second home on Skaha Lake. They decided to resume work as realtors in Penticton area. Skiing was always a focus from the beginning, and on one memorable trip, they skied 16 mountains in 17 days in Colorado (driving through the night to the next mountain) with their dear friends Allan & Sandra Shields; many fabulous memories were made! More fabulous family memories were made on Apex Mountain in Penticton and Whistler Mountain with family helping Vanessa and Matthew become proficient skiers and snowboarders!

When they retired for good (2006), they moved to Oliver; the beautiful Fairview Mountain GC was calling their names! Between golf and building their third beautiful home, this time on Tuc-el-nuit Lake, they were busy! It was there they met dear friends from Prince Rupert: Barb and Reg Kilden; many memorable dinners and times together ensued! They lived in Oliver (wintering in Southern California to hone their golf skills) until they moved to Victoria in 2021.

Looking for the perfect home in Victoria took some time, but Shoal Point kept calling their names. It was perfect: in the harbour with the morning sunrise shining on the buildings on the other side of the harbour... such a gorgeous sight to start the day! Besides the beautiful harbour & scenery and lovely condo, Gord had a workshop there. In the 4 years he lived there, Gord transformed the workshop into a 'craftsman's dream!' Not sure if he had more fun transforming the workshop or working in it!

The transformation took a bit of time, sourcing things like a dust collection system, re-organizing the shop so tools are properly stored and labelled with space designed for working. It's a dream shop for anyone living in the building.

Gord's last project was for his wonderful wife Lynda: a gorgeous new kitchen! He made all the drawers specific to what would be in them. In the knife drawer, there are slots for all sharp knives. He topped the new cupboards off with beautiful quartz countertops; the backsplash tile was completed and well grouted; however, he felt it still needed one more layer of grouting... Always the perfectionist with his projects!

February 11th was the day our world changed forever! Gord was rushed to Victoria General Hospital where he had excellent care in all departments. Unfortunately, we don't recall all the staff names but we'd like to recognize Dr. Ming and staff in Emergency and Dr. Edwards and staff in Neurology.

A beautiful soul has left us; however, we are all enriched by the profound way Gordon lived his life. He was always positive, always productive and always helpful! Any challenge was just a new beginning! We're sure there must be a workshop somewhere that he is 're-organizing' or a golf group he is joining!

Rest in peace dear one,

you are forever loved!

WOODWORKERS PRAYER

Lord, let those who do not work with wood,

find something else just as good!

A private family farewell is planned.
