Gertruda Elisabeth Visman

November 6, 1947 – July 26, 2022
In loving memory ~
Truda passed away unexpectedly in Duncan, BC. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Nicole, Jill and Gwen; Grandchildren: Tyler B, Madison, Tyler W, Niomi, Hayden, and Heather as well as one great grandchild, Markus Ellis. She was predeceased by both her parents, Jan and Gertruda Visman, both of her brothers, Gus and John Visman and survived by her sister, Maggie Komar (Randy) and sisters-in-law Happy (Bill) and Pat.
Truda was born in Neerbeek, Holland and moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1951 with her family. The family later moved to Edmonton where she grew up, attended college and met her husband, Reiner Tiebeke.
Married life took her to Duncan in 1977, where she would raise her girls and have a career of 30 years working at both Margaret Moss and Lake Cowichan Health Units until her retirement. After retirement, she was extremely busy with volunteering either at a foot clinic, playing piano for various extended care homes in the Cowichan Valley, Women of the Moose lodge or helping a friend in need. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Duncan where she continued to bring joy and kindness to others through music or service.
Her outgoing personality was infectious and was always met with humour and kindness, which we will all miss dearly.
A private service is being held on August 28th at 11:00am at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 3441 Gibbins Road Duncan.
