Freda (Snyder) Kropp

In loving memory ~
Freda passed away peacefully at Swan Valley Lodge on July 21, 2023, at the age of 98.
Our mother was born in Poland and her family immigrated to Canada when she was 4 years old. They settled in Morris, Manitoba, where she grew up on a farm. She arrived in Creston in 1984.
She was an avid gardener, which led to her job at Morris Flowers, where she enjoyed creating flower arrangements. She volunteered at the Creston Wildlife Center, Cancer Society and was active in her church and was involved in the High School Lunch Program.
She loved nature which included hiking and cross-country skiing. Her artistic talent and eye for details, were clearly seen in her joy of sketching or painting using mediums of charcoal, pencils, oils and acrylics which led to her teaching sketching to others.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Dorothy Singbeil of Manitoba and Tillie Pirker of Alberta. Also, her 3 daughters: Marlene Manion (Mark), of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; her sons: Chris Manion (Diana), Eric Manion (Glenda). Lorrie Wiebe (Norm) of Maple Ridge, B.C. (their son Aaron). Timi Davis, of Creston, B.C., and her 3 children, Jaime, Jordan and Alex (Sheena). Mum has many great grandchildren.
Our mother was preceded in death by our father, Gus Kropp. She will be interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the G. F. Oliver Funeral Chapel, 225 15th Ave N., Creston, B.C., on Sunday, Sept 3, 2023 at 1pm. The service will be open to all who want to pay their last respects to Freda.
Our family wants to extend a very sincere thanks to the staff of Swan Valley Lodge for their personable, friendly and caring commitments to all the residents, but especially to our mum. We send our personal thanks to Syd Chihonik and Marg Roy for their interaction with mum, which meant so much.
