In Loving Memory ~

Florence Eileen Boscher (nee Dalgarno) of Chase, BC, passed away on July 28, 2024, at 79 years of age.

Survived by her partner, Gary Millar; daughter Laura Boscher (Tim Pal); grandsons Tyler and Nathan Pal; sisters Mary Dalgarno (Steve Dubitz), Betty Becker (Dale); numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her parents, David and Mary Dalgarno, nephew David Becker, and brother-in-law Steve Dubitz.

Eileen was born in Crystal City, Manitoba in 1944. As a child, she moved to BC with her parents.

Two words aptly describe her character "self-determination". She revealed to us, as a small child she could distinctly remember telling anyone trying to help her, "I can do it mine own self". She said it was amazing how determined she was to achieve things on her own.

Eileen traveled around BC with her parents attending many different schools but graduated from Salmon Arm Senior High. She moved to Vancouver, and during this time she worked for Lenkurt Electric Co. where she developed many lifelong friendships. She and her roommate hitchhiked across Great Britain, Europe and into the Scandinavian countries. They slept on a beach on the French Riviera, saw Michelangelo's David, rode gondolas in Venice, and picked oranges in Valencia. She sent air mail letters home, describing her adventures.

After Lenkurt, Eileen worked for BC Tel. She met and married Don Boscher, and they had one daughter, Laura. They later divorced. She met George Carlin in Chase, and they settled on the acreage on Aylmer Road where they shared their passion for farming and gardening with Eileen's grandsons. They became avid growers of garlic and asparagus, among other fruits and vegetables.

She loved working with the Skamana Ski Club, Fish and Game Club, The Women's Institute, The Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and any other society or organization where she felt she could contribute. To put it in a nutshell, she was a gal for all seasons.

After George passed away, Eileen sold the farm and moved to Parkside. During this period of time, she enjoyed morning coffee with the gang, working in her garden plot, and monthly luncheons with girlfriends.

She met Gary Millar from Anglement, with whom she shared many activities including hiking, kayaking, travelling and games of crib to name a few. Gary was a great support to Eileen and her entire family during some very difficult times.

With strong Celtic roots, the trailblazer heads off on another new adventure. We wish her well. We love you, Eileen. Take care and God bless.
