Ethel Elvina Rennie passed away peacefully at Campbell River and District Hospital on Saturday, August 26th. Ethel was born in Rockglen, Saskatchewan on July 17, 1937.
She married George Rennie in 1957. After graduating from teachers college the couple moved west, eventually settling in Campbell River in 1959. Ethel and George taught in School District 72 for their entire careers before retiring together in 1991.
Ethel's beloved Geordie passed away in 2013. Ethel was a loving mother and devoted wife. She enjoyed gardening, wine, sitting around the backyard fire pit with friends and family, and sneaking the odd More cigar, when George wasn't looking.
She will be missed by her children, Shannon (Murray), Scott (Natalie), and Michael (Kim). She dearly loved her grandchildren: Joseph (Natasha), Jessica (Brandon), Drew (Megan), Brendon, Cole, Hayden, Davis (Carrie), and Riley; and great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Paige, Maren, Lyndie, and Ellie.
No service will be held at Ethel's request. The family would like to thank the staff at Campbell River Hospital and the Adult Care Society for their wonderful day program, which Ethel enjoyed attending.
