In loving memory ~

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beautiful Sister and Auntie Erin.

Erin was born in Ladysmith, the youngest of four, to parents; Beverley and Allan (Mel) Welch, and spent the next 28 years there, where she made many lifelong friendships.

Born with a strong work ethic, Erin's work life began in her teen years at the Coronation Square Pharmasave. From there, Erin worked at the Duncan office of Trans-Isle Freightways and lastly, for the Capital Regional District.

Erin loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Alaska and the East Coast of Canada with her mom, Mexico and Cuba with a favourite cousin, Banff and Jasper with her girlfriends, a family trip to Disneyland, as well as many outings with family and friends.

Erin had a great love of music and was always the first to let you know of the next concert date of any artist coming our way. We all enjoyed many concert dates with her!

In combination of her love for animals and willingness to help others, she never missed an opportunity to look after our pets. She loved them all and they loved her!

Always kind-hearted, Erin never forgot a birthday or any special occasion of her family and friends, bestowing cards and gifts so that you knew she was thinking of you in a special way.

In recent years, she had taken up the passion of creating jewelry. She made very beautiful pieces and many friends were gifted with these lovely treasures.

Erin loved to laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a quick wit. Along with that, she was quite a prankster, and delighted in plotting a well-executed scheme on whoever was the intended "victim" - especially if it brought on a good laugh! And these are the memories that we will hold dear.

Predeceased by her parents, Erin is survived by her brother; Brad, sister; Arden Chailler (Dan Ostler), nieces; Lauren Davies and Michele Chailler, great-niece; Jocelyn Davies, and sister; Tracey (George Sharp), as well as numerous relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A Celebration of Erin's Life will be held on April 13, 2024 at the Eagles Hall 921 1st Avenue Ladysmith from 11am-2pm.
