February 8, 1939 – July 20, 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mom and grandy, Elizabeth (Liz) Scardina (nee Fulde) on July 20, 2023 with her son Michael by her side.
Liz was born in Rypin Poland on February 8, 1939 to Helene and Wilhelm Fulde. The family immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1949 where they settled in Richmond in December of that year. The family worked hard to learn English and establish a good life for themselves. They were very proud to become Canadian Citizens.
Liz graduated from Richmond Senior Secondary in 1958 and went on to attend VVI to obtain her secretarial degree. She started working at Crown Zellerbach where she met her husband Richard in 1959 and they were married in 1960. Liz continued to work while Richard went back to University. They had three children, Capri, Michael and Simone.
Liz cherished her friendships and loved to entertain. Liz and Richard had many wonderful friends that they enjoyed entertaining in their home.
Their Ethnic group held a special place in her heart.
After her children were grown Liz started her business Elisabeth’s Lingerie in Blundell Centre in Richmond until the family moved to White Rock BC.
Liz enjoyed time spent in Palm Springs and at the cottage at Caine Lake with many wonderful friends. She loved her garden and her beloved dog Lola but most of all she was a loving wife, mom and grandy.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved when the grandchildren came along. She kept a beautiful home full of love.
Liz is predeceased by her parents Helene and Wilhelm Fulde and her sister Christa.
Liz is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard, her children Capri, Michael (Michelle) and Simone as well as her grandchildren Nicola, Ava, Keenan, Ethan, Lachlan and Ty.
