In loving memory ~
We are saddened to announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Case. She passed peacefully in the early morning of hours of July 16, 2023. She is survived by George Case, her loving husband of 57 years; children Dan (Anja), William, Debbie (Curtis); grandchildren Thomas (Julianne), Lexi-May (Lane), Christopher, Nicole (Brendan); great-grandchildren Samuel, Ezra, Adalia and Loretta-Lynn; her loving sister Jan, brothers John and David; and several beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her mum Sandy Coleman, sister Sheena, and brother Frank.
Betty was born on September 3rd, 1945, at 42 Leslie Street Kirkcaldy County of Fife Scotland. The family immigrated to Vancouver, B.C., on November 27, 1957, leaving behind her beloved Uncle Jim and her Granny. It was in Vancouver that she met Rena and Jimmy Smith and they became her second family.
At the age of 18, she moved to 100 Mile House and began working in the 100 Mile Café. In 1965 she saw her future husband, George at the Lac La Hache Regatta and declared that she would marry that man...and she did. On May 14, 1966, Betty and George married and started their family. Dan born in 1967, William born in 1968, and Debbie born in 1970.
Betty will always be remembered as a loyal and loving wife; a dedicated, strong, and tireless mom; a fiercely loving, proud, and supportive granny; a loving and caring sister, and a dedicated loving and loyal friend. She could always be counted on for her humour, honesty, keeping confidences, selflessness, thoughtfulness and caring, and someone who could always be trusted and counted on.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on September 2, at Martin Exeter Hall (98C Cecil Pl, 100 Mile House, B.C.) with a tea to follow.
