Elaine was born in B.C., spent her teen years in Manitoba, and raised three children with her cherished husband Aurélien Dupuis in Ontario. Elaine was avant-gardist and enthusiastically delved into topics of interest such as health, yoga, women studies, and aspired toward an eventual Doctorate in world religions and Eastern philosophies. She was a professor at a number of universities over the course of her career. At retirement they built a home near Nelson to spend the last of their 62 years near their children. She was best known in the Kootenays for her `Memories` show at the Kootenay Co-op Radio station.
