Drew Richard Glover

July 21, 1955 – March 15, 2021
Drew Glover was an amazing human being and a miracle premature baby arriving in the world July 21,1955.
He was a beloved Son, Father, Grandfather and friend. He is predeceased by his father Richard, his brother Greg and wife Dianne. Drew is survived by his mother Lindsay, brothers Bruce and Ross and sister Lindsay, children Laura (Marty), John (Kama) and Mike (Kara). He loved children especially his grandchildren Kayla, Malcolm, Lily, Torin, Josh and Damon.
He spent most of his childhood in Montreal making life long friendships. Many of those friends visited him in BC and Mexico over the years.
He was an avid skier and an exceptional hockey player. He even started the first Mexican street hockey team in Barra de Navidad in the early 1990’s driving to Mexico with all the gear for the team.
In his working life, he mastered everything from tobacco picking and firewood deliveries to limousine driving, logging, fishing and working the golf course.
Drew was keen on life, people, good music and food. He was a very generous, kind and considerate person who made everyone feel included with his exuberant energy. He loved people and no one would leave without being invited to stay for supper. He was King of the bbq. His cooking is famous in Mexico and Canada. He made baked beans, lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs in quantities to feed an army.
Drew’s greatest love was his late wife Dianne. They built a wonderful family and life in Cumberland, BC. On any given Summer day, you could find him in the
backyard mowing his lawn, making smoked salmon or just chilling on the back deck.
Drew, Dianne and kids made countless road trips to Mexico including their first trip to Barra in 1987. Eventually they developed a property they bought in Barra de Navidad in the late 1980s. He fully retired to Mexico around 2010 with Dianne where they made a home and many great friends in the community.
Drew was overjoyed when the family from home would visit his little piece of paradise. He loved a good party and made Christmas in the Barrio extra special. He is remembered fondly for his Santa-like laugh, caring free spirit and special glint in his eyes. He has left a hole in the lives of everyone who knew him. Forever in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
