The Mitchell family is saddened by the loss of Don. Born in Rossland, Don grew up as part of a large extended family. In his early life, with a love of music, he danced and learned to play the trombone. He loved to collect antiques.
Don was part of many organizations, showing a lifelong dedication to volunteering and helping others. A JL Crowe graduate Don became a journeyman Pipe fitter at Cominco.
He moved with his family to Campbell River and took employment at the Pulp mill.
Don will be sadly missed by sisters Merie, Donna, Darlene, Mavis, and Laura, brothers David, Albert, and Frank, stepsons Jessie and Darcy, and numerous nephews and nieces and friends. Predeceased by his daughter, father, mother, and brother James. Don, you now have your loving daughter Serena Lyn in your arms. Rest in peace.
