December 11, 1937 - July 1, 2023
In loving memory ~
In the early hours of July 1, 2023, we said our final goodbyes to Donald Douglas Stuart, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and all-around good guy.
Don was born in Princeton, B.C., on December 11, 1937. After graduating high school, he moved to Ontario and then in 1957 he moved to Vancouver Island, living and working in various places including Victoria, Camp 8 and Campbell River.
Don was an adventurous man who enjoyed diverse careers in his lifetime including auto mechanic, firefighter and business owner. He never said no to an opportunity or a challenge and never no to a vacation.
In 1979 he met his wife Nadia with whom he enjoyed many years of boating, skiing, gardening and travel.
He is predeceased by his infant brother Terry and parents Douglas and Winnifred Stuart. He is survived by his wife Nadia, daughter Brenda (Allister), brothers George (Rose) and Mike. He also leaves behind granddaughter Stacey (Mike) and grandson Christopher (Nikki) and 6 great-grandchildren - Austin, Vincent, Quentin, Maverick, Rosalee and Kane. Don also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A special thank you to the team at Discovery Harbour Seniors Home for the wonderful care they gave Don in his final days.
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at our home on Sunday, July 30th, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
