Don passed away peacefully in Victoria. He is survived by his sisters, Rita Burow and Patricia Chappel, and their families. Don was born in Princeton, B.C. and moved with his family to Vancouver briefly before settling in Port Alberni where he graduated from Alberni District High School.
He went on to earn a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and began a long and diverse career in natural resources throughout Canada, the United States, Australia and Papua New Guinea. During this time, he made life-long friends.
He retired to Burnaby enthusiastically tending his garden, collecting peonies and dahlias. He followed a lifelong interest in Canadian History and Politics. Family was important to Don, enjoying gatherings, especially with his nieces and nephew and grandnephews and grandniece. In his final years he moved to Victoria to be closer to them.
The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital and Amica Douglas House for their attention and care.
