In loving memory of a dear husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Dick was born in Schettens, Friesland. He was the second oldest of seven children. At 20 years of age he immigrated to Smithers, B.C. Canada
In 1957 he married the love of his life Susan Jaarsma. They had 6 children in Smithers before moving to Chilliwack in 1968. 2 more children completed their family.
Dick was a Carpenter by trade. He will always be remembered for his big smile and his great sense of humour.
Dick was predeceased by his son Frank in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Susan. His sons Jerry (Maragaret), Ted (Diane), Phil (Joan), Ernie, Paul (Noriko) and his daughters Hilda (Albert) and Anna-Mae (Will).
Dick and Susan have been blessed with 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Heritage Village Care Home for the wonderful care that they gave Dick for the last 2-1/2 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pro life Society.
A date for the celebration of life is yet to be determined.
