Dennis was born in Fort St. John, B.C., on June 28th, 1940. He spent the first years of childhood growing up in Kitsilano with his Grandparents and mom, while his dad served in the Navy during the war. He then attended school in Fort St. John and after graduation joined the RCMP. His first posting was on Parliament Hill in Ottawa where he experienced many special assignments such as personal detail for the Queen of England. In Ottawa, he met his lovely wife Gerri and they were married on Easter April 10, 1968. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years together!
Then in 1970, due to a family emergency, he had to take leave from the RCMP and they moved to Fort St John to take over the family business. Dennis then rejoined the RCMP in 1975 and was posted at the Burnaby detachment. He also worked at Headquarters in Vancouver and with the E Division of Dees Island Freeway where he developed and launched the training program for the new RCMP Mustang. He eventually retired from the Force in 1995. Dennis was an involved member of the Masonic Lodge #57 of New Westminster and an Avid fisherman, spending 10+ summers with family and friends at Deep Bay fishing camp. Dennis and Gerri then spent 15 years living on Vancouver Island starting in Port Hardy and then to Victoria. He finally resided in Maple Ridge, B.C., close to Jordan and family.
Dennis will always be remembered for his storytelling and wonderful sense of humour. He was an Honorable Man, devoted Husband, Father, and friend who will be dearly missed.
