In Loving Memory ~

David passed away from cancer in Courtenay, BC Jan 29, 2024, at age 55.

David leaves his partner Heather Magdanz, his former partner Liz Russell, his son Callum Pawson, his father David Pawson, his sister Kelly Donovan, and brother Shane Mahoney.

David leaves his other siblings, brother Jason Pawson and his sisters Lisa Pawson and Cindy Pawson.

David leaves his Aunt Linda Brown, his stepmother Ruth Pawson and all the Pawson, Mahoney, Camley, Brown, Stafford, and Russell family members and many friends.

David was predeceased by his mother, Carol Mahoney, stepfather Brian Mahoney, sister Jennifer Mahoney and stepmother Lynda Camley.

David was born in Edmonton, Alberta July 7, 1968. He lived in multiple cities and towns including Vancouver, 100 Mile House, London, UK, Plymouth, UK and Courtenay, BC. David was multi-talented finding his first passion with soccer. David was athletic, intelligent, and creative. He studied a range of subjects in college from Science, Political Sciences, English Literature to Photography.

David was always interested in travelling. David's most ambitious trip was to Southeast Asia and India where he travelled for over eight months. David moved to London, UK in 1997 to be with his partner Liz. He then moved to Plymouth, UK to study photography at the Plymouth College of Art. After completing his photography training David was hired as a full-time photographer in London, UK.

In 2003 David and Liz and their son Callum moved back to Canada and chose Courtenay, BC as their home. Here, David worked as a landscaper and discovered a new passion. David learned as much as he could about plants, landscape design and stonework he created his own landscaping company called "Greenspace". David designed some of the most spectacular gardens and stonework in the Comox Valley and Campbell River.

David was always proud to be able to hire his son Callum to assist him with his work.

For the last 10 years, David has been in a very loving relationship with his partner Heather Magdanz. David and Heather enjoyed having fires, listening to music and dog sitting for friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for David for close family and friends on Feb 10, 2024.
