In loving memory ~
Johnson, David Earl (Magic) passed away suddenly on February 17 at the age of 69. Loving father to Kimberly (Jason), Christopher (Kimberley), and lifelong friend to their Mother Val, Grandfather of Julia. Devoted partner to Trudy, Brother to John (Jan), Mike (Lesley), Raymond (Lynne), Carol (Ken), Alan, and Rick. His Mother Helen and Father Earl predeceased him. Dave fondly remains the man, the myth, the legend to many.
Dave was a talented man, and his talents served him well. He served as a Pipefitter for more than four decades with Local 170; he enjoyed working on his 1940s Chevrolet hotrod and was masterful when it came to hooking his favourite fish for dinner.
Dave was a man of many families, a family of blood ties, one of athletes, and a family of like-minded workers. His kindness, humour and loving nature will be missed by all whose lives he touched. The Johnson family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Nanaimo United Soccer team members and the responding paramedics who supported Dave when he needed it the most. They also extend their sincere appreciation for Local 170 for contributing to his celebration of life.
Please join those who loved Magic in celebrating his life at the Cavallotti Lodge (2060 East Wellington Road) at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, where Covid-19 protocols will be observed.
In place of sending flowers, please consider donating to Kids Sports Canada at www.kidsportcanada.ca/british-columbia/nanaimo.
