August 20, 1927 - January 7, 2023
David Kenneth Dahlgren passed away in the early hours of January 7th.
Dave was predeceased by his siblings Jack, Bob, Marge and Ted and survived by his wife, Thelma, and sisters Jean, Joyce, and Donna, and children Ken, Judy, and Larry.
Dave's life began in Elk Point, Alberta, and as a child lived around a few interior towns of BC before ending up in Port Moody, where he met Thelma, his caring wife for his next 72 years. After living in Port Coquitlam for around 14 years, he moved his family to Maple Ridge in 1966.
In 1955 he began working for the IPSCO steel mill in Port Moody eventually becoming the plant manager and retiring in 1987.
Dave's passion was fishing. He could be found fishing in his early years on the Coquitlam River, then later on the Alouette, Chehalis, Vedder, Thompson, Upper Pitt rivers or fly fishing on the interior lakes.
Dave was actively involved with the Maple Ridge Senior's Centre, playing snooker and crib and organizing crib tournaments.
Dave had a rich life with lots of family and many friends. He will be missed.
