In loving memory ~

Darlene, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old, and a big kid at heart.

Born on April 18th, 1946, in Regina, Sask. Darlene was the only daughter of Delmer and Innis Saylor. She grew up in Burnaby, BC with a zest for life and a deep appreciation for family, friends and community.

In 1965, Darlene married the love of her life, David. Together, they shared over 60 years of love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were true partners in every sense of the word, supporting each other through life's triumphs and tribulations with unwavering devotion.

As a mother, Darlene was the heart and soul of her family. She poured her boundless love and wisdom into raising her four children, instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and resilience. Her unconditional love knew no bounds, and her children will forever be grateful for the countless sacrifices she made on their behalf.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David; her children, Bryan, Lisa (Jeff), Jason (Tracy) and Michelle (Kori); her grandchildren, Ashley, Ashley Rose, James, Jonathon, Brittany, Hayley, Tyler, Candace, Brandon, Meadow, Ryan, Cassidy and Brenden, great-grandchildren Austin, Maverick, Lyndon, Olivia and Madisyn, her partner in crime Sharon, good friend Maryann and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Darlene's journey was marked by a tireless dedication to helping others including rescued animals. She spent much of her time volunteering with the Kitimat Humane Society, where her compassion and empathy for animals touched the lives of countless rescues.

A celebration of Darlene's life will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Kitimat Humane Society which will support the animals which were all dear to her heart.

A special thank you to Dr. Kay, ER doctors and the wonderful nurses at the Kitimat General Hospital for their caring attention and kindness.
