February 2, 1939 - January 25, 2025
In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Clayton Harry George McKinley on January 25, 2025. Clayton was born on February 2, 1939 in Fort McMurray, Alberta. He obtained his journeyman electrician's certificate at Eldorado Mining and Refining in Saskatchewan. While working at Eldorado, he met his wife Adeline, who was working as a registered nurse at the hospital in Uranium City. They married in 1961 in Abbotsford, B.C.
Clayton worked in several different cities as an electrician eventually gaining employment at Cominco from 1965 to 2004. He enjoyed camping and boating at Syringa Lake with family and friends, traveling to concerts and playing his guitar. After retirement, he spent most of his free time on the Castlegar Golf Course where he was a member for over 50 years. It proved to be worthwhile as he was awarded a hole in one at two different courses.
He is survived by his wife Adeline of 63 years and their three children, Carla, Todd and Leanne (Allan) and his 5 grandchildren: Reese (Taeya) Amaya, Eden, Maggie and Scott.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Genelle Hall from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Wayne Szopa of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
