The family moved to Dewdney, BC when Terry was about 5 years old. Terry then was raised by his step-father Harry Stowards. Terry attended Dewdney Elementary and Mission High School. He worked as a farm hand in the area along with growing up on the family farm. He moved to the Okanagan around 1968.
He worked for Baird Brothers for a number of years, then bought his own semi-truck and drove for Noca Dairy, West Rim, Sure Crop, Hunterline and travelled in the USA, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan delivering goods.
After he sold his truck, he worked for Okanagan Aggregates for a few years. He had to take an early retirement because of a back injury.
Terry enjoyed his hobbies which included music, puzzles, cards, league bowling and model trains. He loved to travel and to spend time camping with family and friends.
